Dr. Frances Chen, Ava Morris, and Zaina Alkurdi recently led a presentation and discussion with PSYC 217 and 218 instructors on “Facilitating Student Success in the Psychology Major: Focus on the PSYC 217-218 Transition.” They provided an overview of the project goals and progress so far, shared initial ideas and resources for aligning supports across 217 and 218, and raised opportunities for instructor input and piloting of resources.
This project is generously funded by the UBC Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund. The broad goals of this project are to set Psychology undergraduates up for success in the major, reduce their anxiety about the required PSYC 217-218 sequence, and ultimately improve their learning outcomes.
