Congratulations to our lab members Julia Nakamura and Marisa Nelson, and to their collaborators Renae Wilkinson, Etsuji Suzuki, and Tyler VanderWeele! Their recent paper, “Volunteering in Young Adulthood: Complex Associations with Later Health and Well-Being Outcomes,” was recently honoured by the American Journal of Health Promotion.
As announced in the journal’s “Best of 2025” List of Health Promotion Researchers, their paper received a Dorothy Nyswander Award. The journal’s editorial team highlighted their sophisticated investigation into how helping others early in life can support health and well-being in the long term.
